Released July 9, 2024
- Meteobridge PRO, PRO2, NANO SD, RPI, VM: "Database - Maintenance" tab has received some reorganization and functional updates.
- "Reconstruct" and "Backup now" buttons are now grouped together and another option to delete the entire database is added. You need to additionally confirm before database deletion is executed.
- There is a new SQL export option "Export now" which allows to write a SQL dump into a file. You can select if per-minute data is included in the dump. You can also limit the dump to certain sensors. When you specify "th0 wind0 rain0 thb0" only sensors starting with these prefixes will be exported. If no selection is given, all sensors are exported. Generated file is located in the "backup" folder of the SMB share, filenames start with "sql-".
- There is a new SQL data import option. All files in backup folder starting with "sql-" are subject to import. Please do not import SQL data from other programs, that will for sure generate a mess. When import has been done, don't forget to run "Reconstruct" option to regain data consistency.
- All new operations log information into the "System - Logging" tab. It is highly recommended to check there if the initiated operation has performed fine.
Released June 27, 2024
- improves NBIOT data readout by allowing to specify how far into the past the data transfer should start with. Chosen option does not stick permanently but initiates a timestamp reset at the NBIOT server so that all subsequent data requests of the current Meteobridge for the desired NBIOT MAC will start at the specified point in time and will move continuously forward while reading data from it. It needs to press "save" to transfer the start point information to the NBIOT server. A message will tell if transaction has been accepted by the server.
Released June 26, 2024
- Meteobridge RPI: fixes a bug that prevents from re-installing the Dashboard.
Release June 17, 2024
- omits testing for correct credentials on "weather network" with Windy, as this can interfere with the 5 min access limit enforced by Windy.
- Meteobridge VM: modifies boot operations to load USB serial drivers in order to make Meteobridge VM working with USB serial devices. It needs two reboots to have this changes applied (1st for loading the updated boot code, 2nd to have it executed).
Release June 15, 2024

Released May 28, 2024
- fixes a shortly introduced bug for TP-Link router platforms where all uploads were blocked because of a missing decompression statement for Meteobridge module "wnetd".
Released May 27, 2024
- Meteobridge PRO2: reduces power demand a bit by switching off the invisible LED on the VoCore2 SOC.
- Meteobridge PRO2: allows to disable WIFI completely when in "Stand-Alone" network mode. This option can be selected by the pin hole push button menu. Having done so it needs to select "Reboot as WIFI AP" or "Reboot LAN DHCP client" from pin hole button menu to get the Meteobridge connected to your local infrastructure again. Turning WiFi off reduces power demand, which makes sense when using the PRO2 in NBIOT mode where NBIOT is the only data channel to the outside world and when you are powering the Meteobridge with PV panels off the grid. Average power demand can go down to 5V, 250mA which is slightly above 1 Watt. Demand increases a bit when the NBIOT module kicks in for a few seconds by uploading data every 5 minutes to the Meteobridge server.
Released May 26, 2024

Released May 20, 2024
- Allows to set a specific MAC on "Station - Settings" tab that Meteobridge uses for communication with weather networks. This allows to keep weather network account unchanged in case Meteobridge is migrated onto a new platform. Although the new Meteobridge platform has a new MAC the old one can still be used for continuity of services. "Reset MAC" button inserts the MAC of the current hardware, which is default.
- Meteobridge now allows for a total of 80 events (instead of 20). Less capable platforms like TP-Link routers might not cope well with more than 20 events, but responsibility for stable operation with tons of events is now put in your hands. You are encouraged to inspect "buffer" value on "System - Information" tab to check if event queue is going to fill up. If so you have to reduce number of events or to trigger events less often.
- Event definitions are distributed on multiple events tabs, each representing up to ten event definitions. You can toggle between event definition tabs.
- CAVEAT! Format of event definitions needed to change in order to allow for more than 20. Once you have applied the new Meteobridge version, all existing events will be automatically transcoded into the new format. When you decide to go back to an older Meteobridge version, the events will not be visible anymore as old Meteobridge versions do not understand the new format. When you go back to a current Meteobridge version the new events will be visible again.
- It is recommended to store the old configuration on "System - Administration" tab with "Backup" option before doing any operation on the Meteobridge GUI, which will replace the old configuration file with the new one.

Released November 14/15/16, 2023
- adds an option to define virtual sensors on "Station - Virtual Sensors" tab. In a first step the sensor that should trigger to generate data for a virtual sensor needs to be defined. Next the virtual sensor needs to be selected. Virtual sensors are assigned to a virtual station #8. When trigger sensor and virtual sensor to generate data for are defined, next step is to define an expression that is used for computation of the virtual sensor data. To store this definition "Save" button needs to be pressed. "Reset" button deletes all virtual sensor definitions. The computation is using the same syntax as with templates. You can use any template variables and you can apply math to them in terms of arithmetic expressions. Also conditional #if#then#else#fi# expressions can be used, like with templates. Virtual sensors can be assigned away from virtual station #8 to any other sensor name on "Station - Mapping" tab. Examples: The definition for virtual sensor "thb8!0temp" (which is triggered each time new data for "thb0!0temp" arrives) tells that the current value of "thb0temp" is multiplied by 1.3 and stored as virtual sensor value. The generation of data for virtual sensor "wind8!0wind" is triggered by "wind0!0wind" and the value to be stored is the minimum of the last 3 "wind0wind" readings. Putting the mouse over the orange "i" icons pops up a text that outlines most recent computation of the virtual sensor data. Find more examples in the Meteobridge Forum.
Released October 31, 2023
- adds selectors "prev", "prev1", "prev2", ... to sensor template definitions to address data values in the past. Here which data to pick is not specified by a time frame but by occurrence of data. "[thb0temp-prev]" and "[thb0temp-prev1]" select the temperature data of indoor sensor "thb0" which has been reported by the sensor before the most recent data has been given to Meteobridge. So to speak "prevN" selects data from N steps into the past.
- adds selectors "prevtime", "prevtime2", "prevtime2", ... which work as the "prev" selectors but report timestamp from the past.
Released October 29, 2023
- Meteobridge PRO2: fixes a bug that stalls MB PRO2 when remote login enabled.
- fixes a bug on computation of sea level pressure with "Weatherflow" and "Purple Air" stations.
- fixes a bug when uploading soil/leaf data from a Weatherlink Live station to Meteoplug Cloud. Sensor mapping defined in Meteobridge is now also applied to corresponding Meteoplug data.
released October 18, 2023
- adds an option to MR3020 models to define a boot delay on "System - Administration" tab. This option was previously limited to Meteobridge PRO, PRO2, NANO, RPI. A boot delay can help to allow the router to start proper operation after a power fail before Meteobridge starts reaching out to the Internet.
- fixes a bug regarding rain rate and rain total when using WL Cloud as weather station
- fixes a bug that prevented data for wet-bulb temperature shown on "Monitoring - Min/Max Data" tab
released October 17, 2023
- adds measurement of "wet bulb" to "th" sensors. "th0wetbulb" specifies the "web bulb temperature" of "th0" sensor. Wet bulb values can be used in templates, graphs and exports. Wetbulb data is available only after having updated Meteobridge, it is not applied to historical data. Used formular is:
wetbulb = temp * atan (0.151977 * sqrt (hum + 8.313659)) + atan (temp + hum) - atan (hum - 1.676331) + 0.00391838 * pow (hum, 1.5) * atan (0.023101 * hum) - 4.686035
released October 15, 2023
- fixes a newly introduced bug where data update stops after a while when reading data from Davis WLL (WeatherLink Live).
released October 13, 2023
- adds experimental support for the Instromet Weather Station Logger.
- improves code for evaluating 3rd party sunshine detector for Davis stations.
- makes station available indicators when selecting the type of a connected station more visible. A red mark indicates that a station of the selected type is currently not connected to Meteobridge. A green mark indicates that such a station is for sure connected/available. A missing mark indicates that it is not known if the selected type of station is available.
released October 7, 2023
- improves Weatherlink Cloud data download when using multiple stations. Per default data from all stations is evaluated. Presented station IDs are listed in the Log on "System - Logging" tab. To restrict reception of data to one station the station ID can be added as third parameter in the "V2 Key+Secret" field. When multiple stations report different data for a certain type of sensor, this might result into flipping data for an impacted sensor. To avoid this, a selection of a specific Station-ID might be a good idea.
- Meteobridge PRO and PRO2: adds a display on "System - Information" tab that shows connected USB sticks and I2C devices (PRO2 only). USB sticks are shown with vendor/model information, total capacity and installed file system. When USB stick is intended for backup use, it needs to be partitioned as it comes from the factory (vfat and partitioned).
- changes data uploads to weather network WeatherFlow from HTTP to HTTPS.
released September 30, 2023
- adds a "Proxy-SFTP" service that allows older Meteobridge platforms (that do no support OpenSSL 1.1 which is demanded by some SFTP servers) to upload files by using the Meteobridge server as a proxy. Upload can be tested as with FTP and SFTP before. When defining an event the Proxy-SFTP option needs to selected. Fastest repetition interval is "every minute". Proxy-SFTP events need to be prefixed with "proxysftp" as shown in the attached examples. To avoid running into timeouts file sizes should not exceed 10MB. By using this Proxy-SFTP you pass SFTP credentials through the Meteobridge server. Therefore, I would like to explain how this works, so that you can decide if you are willing to make use of this service. The file data and the credentials are sent by a HTTPS get/post request to the Meteobridge server. This means the transport to the Meteobridge server is encrypted and no one can read the data being transferred. The addressed script on the server takes the data and starts a SFTP session for the given file using the provided credentials. Neither file nor credentials are stored on the Meteobridge server, they are just used within the script during execution. Leak of data can only happen, when the Meteobridge server is hacked and the script gets modified. In theory I could of course lie to you and sneak your credentials, so you have to trust me not to exploiting your data and SFTP credentials. I hope this gives you some feeling in regards to security. The Proxy-SFTP service should not be your first choice for FTP/SFTP but might be a welcome option when direct FTP/SFTP fails because of lacking OpenSSL 1.1 on your Meteobridge.
released September 21, 2023
- fixes a bug introduced with last update which may crash the logging process and hides the GW1000 station option.
released September 18, 2023
- allows to make use of Davis Weatherlink Cloud as a virtual weather station. As many Davis products report data to Davis WeatherLink and some of these products (like new 6313 console) do not provide any data locally, Meteobridge now allows to read weather data from the Davis Cloud. When you are on a basic WeatherLink plan the sensor updates will only be available every 15 minutes. This is a solution inferior of getting local access to data in realtime, but ist is better that not having this data at all. Meteobridge makes use of WeatherLink API v2 and you need to insert API key and API secret (separated by a blank). Warning: Current implementation is still beta, errors might show up for certain sensor setups.

Tab "Live Data"is renamed "Monitor" and "History" is now named "Database". I hope you can more intuitively navigate by this in the future, once you got used to it. I cannot rule out that some function may be broke, so please post here in the forum if you face problems caused by the redesign.

Version 5.5
released March 4, 2023
- Uploading data to weather network "meteoclimatic" is done in multiple steps. First Meteobridge generates a data file containing all what Meteoclimatic needs, then this file gets uploaded to the Meteobridge server at a dedicated URL. Finally, the Meteoclimatic network gets pointed to this file. This approach has the privacy disadvantage that the data you provide to meteoclimatic can be viewed by anyone, when the URL where to pick the data is known. Just released update allows you to specify an individual add-on to the URL. This way you can change the URL by adding a string and someone knowing the former URL will no longer be able to retrieve your data, unless you tell the new URL, which of course you can change again. When using this, please don't forget to inform Meteolimatic about the new URL as well.
released February 25, 2023
- Meteobridge NANO SD, PRO, PRO2, RPI: Database rebuild feature on "System - Administration" tab has been reworked to apply per-minute data deletion settings when doing a rebuild. This helps to solve situations, where the database has grown to the max because of per-minute data and now stopped operation because of disk being full. Just deleting records from the database does not shrink its physical size. It needs a SQL dump and reimport to build the database up from scratch again. While doing so Meteobridge now also applies the "delete per-minute data" option on "System - Administration" tab. Per minute data that is older as the given threshold will not make it into the new database. This helps to keep the new database small and to resolve the "disk is full" error. When no per-minute deletion is specified, all data will loaded into the new database as before. Rebuilding the database is a very time consuming process. Meteobridge now estimates in the log file how long it will approximately take.
released February 22, 2023
- Meteobridge NANO SD: supports Stand-Alone mode where the NANO SD is not connected to the Internet. NANO can be accessed via the WLAN AP it is providing via SSID "Meteobridge-XXXXXXXXXXXX" and standard password "meteobridge" (which can be changed). As Meteobridge does not have a RTC it asks the Davis console for date/time. By that recorded data can be time stamped correctly. Upload of data to weather networks or all other features that need the Internet are not possible in that mode of operation. However, it can log data locally and allows a technician showing up from time to time with a Laptop to connect to the NANO SD by WiFi, to start generating an local data export and to download the generated export file to the Laptop. In some edge cases this might be interesting for Davis stations being out in the wild where no Internet access can be achieved and just collecting logged data from time to time is good enough for the intended purpose. NANO SD can store tons of data in short intervals, where the internal Davis console logger falls short.

released May 1, 2022:
- Meteobridge PRO, NANO SD, RPI: adds more flexibility to automated chart generation. Beside pre-defined time frames there is an option "user defined" added, that allows to define the start and stop time freely. Definition is done relative to the point in time when the event gets triggered. Syntax is the same as when calling a chart generation via URL parameters. Start and stop times are specified like "Yn" (year), "Mn" (month), "Wn" (week), "Dn" (day), "Hn" (hour), where the first letter indicates the time scale (year, month, week, day, hour) and the consecutive number indicates how many steps to go into the past. Example: "from:H6 to:H0" indicates a period from 6 hours in the past (H6) to the current hour (H0). Time resolution can also be specified from minutes to months. There are no plausibility checks, so you are responsible not to select too large data volumes or invalid time period definitions.

When the URL "http://ip-of-your-meteobridge/public/ecowitt0.cgi" is specified in the console, Meteobridge receives data from the station and can work with that. To allow multiple consoles to feed data to Meteobridge the endpoint of above URL includes the station number. When it is the primary station of Meteobridge "ecowitt0.cgi" has to be used, when it is the first additional station of Meteobridge, then "ecowitt1.cgi" is the correct endpoint, and so on. The URL to use in your specific setup is display in the "Connection" section of your station definition.

released August 15, 2021:
- changes the way lightning data is handled with GW1000 stations. Formerly data was only stored in case of a strike event. As GW1000 community keeps complaining about that, lightning data is now always available and redundantly stored every minute, even in case of no strike event. Date/time of the last change in striking counts can be accessed as "lgtXtotal-nonzerotime". That time stamp should correspond reasonable good with the strike event date/time of the GW1000 itself. I hope this makes data more easy to use in follow-on processes. As I don't have these types of sensors, testing relies to the lightning obsessed fraction of the GW1000 install base.
- fixes a bug when using GW1000 with WH57 lighting detection sensor only.
- fixes a formerly introduced bug that WLIP wait times are not taken into consideration.

released August 7, 2021:
- reintroduces the "reset sensor binding" checkbox for stations GW1000, WeatherFlow, AcuLink in the "Connection" row. Setting a mark into this box and pressing "save" will reset the binding of so far found sensors to Meteobridge sensors. This is very useful, when you replace a sensor and want to get rid of the old Meteobridge bindings that do not point to an existing sensor any more.
released July 27, 2021:
Meteobridge PRO, NANO SD, RPI: fixes a minor bug when graphing or exporting cumulated data (like rainfall) in periods without sensor readings. Formerly this was set to zero instead of being omitted.
released July 23, 2021:
- adds support for uRADMonitor sensors (link). You only need to specify IP of the device in your LAN/WLAN to read out data locally. Grabbing data from the uRADMonitor cloud service is not supported. Supported sensor types are:

- Meteobridge PRO, NANO SD, RPI: adds time resolutions of "5 Minutes", "10 Minutes", "15 Minutes", "20 Minutes" and "30 Minutes" to the selection when doing graphs or exports. These time resolutions need the data to be stored on per-minute schedule. Data is not stored in the database in these aggregations but computed when doing the export or chart generation. As this needed some changes deep inside the data extraction code, there might be some new bugs introduced. If you experience unexpected behaviour, please comment in the forum.
- Meteobridge PRO, NANO SD, RPI: fixes a bug that prevented mapping of "heatindex" sensors.
Version 5.1
released July 11, 2021:
- Meteobridge PRO, NANO SD, RPI: restructures database maintenance section on "System - Administration" tab a bit to more clearly separate backup and restore functions. Restore of database now also allows deletion of existing database first to avoid out-of-memory situations when restoring a larger database. Please only use this option when told that there is not enough free storage and please do a backup of the old database first.
released July 8, 2021:
- allows to move a Meteobridge license from one device to another one. Meteobridge PRO and NANO are excepted as it is dedicated hardware which come with fixed licenses that cannot be transferred. All other Meteobridge devices can migrate their license to another non-licensed Meteobridge. In order to have this working as a self service, the donating and receiving Meteobridge need to be in the same LAN/WLAN. It might be necessary to restart both in order to make them visible to each other. Transfer is done on "License" tab of the license donating Meteobridge by simply selecting the unlicensed target device from a dropdown and to press "Migrate license now" button. Result will be displayed in the header when GUI builds up again. To have changes applied both units need to be restarted afterwards. I hope this self service will reduce e-mail requests to us to do license migrations. If the self service does not do, you are required to contact "info(at)smartbedded.com" to have it done manually by us.

released May 2/3, 2021:
- adapts sending of hourly rain data to "Weather365" network to send data of last hour within first 5 mins of current hour. This is needed as "weather365" is not able to compute hourly rain data from difference in total rain by themselves but relies on sending redundant information in an out of sync timeframe. This makes the "weather365" API the most inconsistent to deal with I have seen so far, but your milage may vary.
- adapts sending of daily rain data to "Weather365" network same way as done with hourly data. Not sure which kind of inconsitencies will additionally show up. I would recommend to use this network with some caution regarding meaning and correctness of data.

released October 2, 2020
- adds a "set date" button on "Edit Data" tab to define date selected here being default date for operations on tab "Import / Export".
- import feature has been reworked. Support of compressed files (.zip and .gz) has been stripped to allow import of very large files by cutting those internally into chunks. When import gets started it is done in chunks of 240 secs, then pausing 2 minutes to allow the database to work on the regular requests. This is repeated until the import file is handled completely. Progress can be inspected in "Logging" section of "System" tab. As import of massive files takes rather long this is a major improvement as a) regular Meteobridge operation is not paused during import time and b) large files are handled in the background, no need to cut into smaller chunks and to import those one by one.
- some rather fundamental changes in the sensor naming concept. Supporting multiple stations makes a change in the sensor naming schema necessary. From now on there will be two distinct views onto a given sensor.
- physical sensor: A physical sensor does include all the details that is exactly determining a sensor. This includes station number, sensor type, sensor number, measurement category. Example: "thb1!0temp" is a combined thermo-hum-baro sensor (type: "thb") from station #1 (station: "1") with sensor ID 0 (number: "0") and measurement category "temp". Physical sensor names are best suited to exactly address a certain sensor.
- logical sensor: A logical sensor abstracts from some details of a physical sensor. It does not carry a station ID, but represents a special meaning. For example "th0temp" and "th0hum" represent the classical outdoor temp-hum sensor, which delivers the temperature/humidity information to be broadcasted to weather networks or used in graphs or your exports. Meteobridge defines a set of logical sensors with a special meaning as you can see in the picture on the right. These logical sensors are mapped to the corresponding sensors of station #0 by default.
- Mapping of logical sensors to physical sensors allows you to adapt Meteobridge weather network support and graphing to your specific setup of stations and sensors. When you have an extra temp-hum sensor with ID #1 on station #1 and want to use this for outside temp/hum reporting instead of the one delivered with the primary station, you can simply map "th1!1temp" to "th0temp" and "th1!1hum" to "th0hum" and "th1!1dew" to "th0dew". In case you have a good source for wind chill temperature on temp-hum extra sensor #5 on station #1, you might also map "th1!5temp" to "wind0chill". As you see, this mapping feature is extremely powerful. It allows to adapt predefined weather services in Meteobridge (which are using logical sensors) to your specific station and sensor setup. In the picture on the right you see the new "Mapping" tab in the "Station" section of Meteobridge. This tab reflects the mapping mentioned before. "Mapping" tab replaces former definition of primary sensors on "Min/Max Data" tab, which is now a tab for data inspection purposes only, without interaction. Green sensors are the ones with predefined meaning by default, yellow sensors indicate that these have been mapped individually, white sensors are not attached to a logical sensor and can only be addressed as physical sensors. When moving the mouse over a sensor you get the mapping (if any) displayed as a balloon text.
- updates Italian language pack
- introduces an new sub page "mapping" that allows for mapping of physical sensors "th1!0temp" to logical sensors like "th0temp". This mapping page replaces former definition on primary sensors on "Min/Max Data" tab, which is now a tab for data inspection purposes only, without interaction. Green sensors are the ones with predefined meaning, yellow sensors indicate that these have been mapped individually.
released September 26, 2020

released September 19/20, 2020
- adds support for ObserverIP's new firmware that reports air quality for indoor (air0pm) and outdoor (air1pm) sensors.
- fixes a bug that applies calibration of a specific sensor to all identical named sensors of additional stations (thb0temp, thb1!0temp, thb2!0temp, ...).
- fixes some bugs regarding user-defined plugins.
- fixes a bug when defining calibration factor or offset of sensors from additional (non-primary) weather stations.
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: supports sensors from non-primary weather stations in exports and charts. Sensor number is replaced by station number an exclamation mark followed by the sensor number. Example "th1!1temp" addresses sensor "th1temp" from station 1. Sensors from primary station (station 0) do not need the station prefix "0!". Therefore, "th0!0temp" is identical to "th0temp". That way you don't have to change your existing chart, export and template definitions.
- Meteobridge NANO & NANO SD: adds option to use user-defined plugins.
- Meteobridge NANO SD: adds a new second row tab "Weather Dashboard" which allows you to have a look at your current data in the famous Weather34 style. On the tab you can select if data should be transferred into this dashboard. When you launch the dashboard it will come up in a separate window (your browser needs to allow Meteobridge to open a window). The dashboard can also be reached from the Internet, if you enabled Meteobridge remote login. Dashboard does not provide charts. You can add your WU API key to include weather forecasts from WU. Please don't forget to set time zone and UTC difference on the dashboard configuration page. Many thanks to Brian for developing this fantastic looking dashboard.
released September 16/17, 2020
- adds a "quick navigation" feature that allows a direct jump onto the tabs of the second row. When mouse moves over the tab name, a list with accessible sub-tabs is popping up so that the desired sub-tab can be directly selected. This is a short cut for first selecting a tab from the first row, waiting until the page has built up and then selecting the sub-tab where you want to go.
- fixes shortly broken support for "OberserverIP" stations.
- fixes a bug when using non-metric units for sensor calibration on tab "Weather Station" -> "Settings".
released September 13/14/15, 2020

released September 12, 2020
- adds experimental support for new Ecowitt WH45 sensor (temp, hum, air quality and CO2).
- silently reestablish tcpip connection drops (caused by the weather station) without doing a complete disconnect/connect station cycle.
- Design of "Weather Station" tab has changed significantly in order to allow definition of multiple weather stations. Station is picked from a drop-down selection from the list of supported models. Then type of connection (USB, TCPIP, etc) is choosen and finally additional information like serial device or IP address is specified. Meteobridge takes care that only models that can be connected to your specific Meteobridge platform are presented. Beside the primary weather station a maximum of 4 additional stations can be connected to and evaluated by Meteobridge. This works even on the least powerful platforms like MR3020v1. The gallery below shows a Meteobridge MR3020v1 connected to five different weather station models in parallel.
- Template variables are modified to handle multi-station situations. Sensors of the primary station can be addressed as before like "th0temp". "th0temp" sensor of first additional station can be addressed as "th1!0temp". The "1!" prefix indicates additional station #1, "2!" prefix denotes additional station #2 and so on. As before you define which sensors are used as primary sensors used for reporting to weather networks (on tab "Live Data" -> "Data Min/Max"). Their names are displayed in green. You can change that be clicking on one of the yellow sensors and stating that this one should be used as a primary sensor. Definition of primary sensors has not changed, you just have more options when using multiple stations.
- adds support for user-defined plugins that can feed data from not natively supported weather stations to Meteobridge. This is done in terms of a simple, user-defined shell script that posts data to /dev/stdout in an endless loop. Format of data to be provided can be derived from the attached example script "simulstation.plugin" that provides random data for sensors thb0, th0, t0, rain0, wind0, uv0, sol0, data0. Plugin files need to have extension ".plugin" and can be located in "scripts" folder (only on PRO and NANOSD platforms) or can be loaded from an URL (on all Meteobridge platforms).
#!/bin/sh # i=0 while true; do temp="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(100+rand()*200)}'`" hum="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(20+rand()*40)}'`" baro="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(9800+rand()*400)}'`" echo "thb0 $temp $hum $baro" sleep 2 temp="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(100+rand()*200)}'`" hum="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(20+rand()*40)}'`" echo "th0 $temp $hum" sleep 2 temp="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(100+rand()*200)}'`" echo "t0 $temp" sleep 2 dir="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(rand()*359)}'`" wind="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(rand()*150)}'`" gust=$((wind+30)) echo "wind0 $dir $gust $wind" sleep 2 rate="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(rand()*100)}'`" total=$((i+2)) echo "rain0 $rate $total" i=$total sleep 2 uv="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(rand()*40)}'`" echo "uv0 $uv" sleep 2 rad="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(rand()*1000)}'`" echo "sol0 $rad" sleep 2 num="`awk 'BEGIN{srand();print int(rand()*10000)}'`" echo "data0 $num" sleep 2 done
released August 28, 2020
- updates on Dutch language file, thanks to Gerhard (https://weeropdeveluwe.nl)
- updates maximum length of HTTP calls on "Services" tab to 8192 instead of 4096 bytes.
released August 18, 2020
- replaces the old mechanism to calibrate some sensors groups (wind0/rain0/th0/etc.) by a more general approach that allows for calibrating any sensor you like. "Station" tab has a sub tab "Settings" where you can define calibration. Calibration is done in terms of an offset and a factor. Although Meteobridge computes internally with metric units, you can apply calibrations in imperial units, if you like. It will be recalculated internally. The used calculation formular is displayed for you to understand how it works. Settings defined previously should be automatically converted into the new format.
released August 17, 2020
- fixes a bug in regard to moisture updates via new AWEKAS upload format.
- some minor improvements on "2 row tab" GUI.
released August 16, 2020
- introduces a new navigation schema for Meteobridge admin web interface. As the content on some tabs has grown over the past the pages were getting longer and longer so that a lot of scrolling was needed. We now changed to a 2-row tab approach, where the content of a tab is divided into "sub tabs" where appropriate. This should make navigation more convenient and also gives room for more features in the future. Color schema is not the best in the world, but I think it is not too much pain in the eyes. Please do a "shift reload" with your browser to empty its cache on CCS and background GIFs. When you face any quirks regarding the new GUI, please report in the forum.

- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: allows period parameter of "export.cgi" script to specify a range. Example: "period=20191201-20200115" specifies range from Dec 1, 2019 until Jan 15, 2020 (end date is excluded so it is effectively until 23:59 Jan 14, 2020).
released February 1, 2020
- expands conversion options of template variables by a generic factor/offset model. Example: "[th0temp-act=f0,5+3,5:-]" returns the current outdoor temperate in degrees Fahrenheit but multiplies the result with 0.5 (factor) and adds 3.5 (offset) to it. If factor or offset contain decimals, these need to be written with a comma "," instead of the dot "." because the dot has a special meaning when used with template variables. Factors and offsets can also be applied to export and chart definitions.
released January 30, 2020
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: "export.cgi" script can now handle url encoded parameters.

released January 23, 2020
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: allows to feed "export.cgi" function with a template string instead of a pre-defined template file. Please keep in mind that these templates are used for mass data export from the database and they are not providing the conversion features known from the regular templates. Example: export.cgi?period=202001&resolution=day&template=[YYYY]-[MM]-[DD],[epoch],[th0temp-avg.1:],[th0temp-min.1:],[th0temp-max.1:],[th0hum-avg.0:] returns the data on the right.
released January 19, 2020
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: makes data export function available from the web interface by calling "http://ip-of-your-meteobridge/cgi-bin/export.cgi?period=202001&resolution=hour&template=standard-iso.exp". This reports content of the database according to the template definition "standard-iso.exp" (from template folder) for the month January 2020 in hourly resolution.

- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: fixes a bug where addressing data back into last year with "@Mx" selector points into the void.
- adds new sensor "wind0maxdir" that reports wind direction of maximum gust in the requested time frame. Example: [wind0maxdir-dmax:-] reports wind direction of todays maximum gust. [wind0maxdir-dmax=endir:-] does the same but reports as a text like "NWN" instead of degrees north. New "wind0maxdir" data starts being collected from installation of this version on, so it will not work back into the past.
released January 2, 2020
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds a service that generates HTML and text files based on a template file or a directly specified template description. Resulting file is stored in the "html" folder on the PC network share of the Meteobridge.

- reduces upload buffer size for Meteoplug Cloud network on systems with 32 MB RAM only. This is to avoid stalls/reboots on MR3020, MR3040, WR703N because of too low available RAM when buffers have filled up over time.
released October 6, 2019
- adds support for a new personal weather data upload service named "WL Cloud". This feature is only available for Meteobridges connected to a Davis data logger (Console or Envoy, not Envoy8x). It directly uploads data from the logger (not data from the Meteobridge) to an URL of your liking. Data consists of LOOP, HILOWS and DMPAFT data sets as provided from the Davis logger. Upload format is similar (and might be compatible) to what Davis uses to feed their weatherlink network. To have your web server ready for receiving the data, please use this perl code, which stores uploaded packet content on your server in separate files for further processing. Code is very simple and provides some comments to understand what kind of data is stored in the files. Feel free to use this code and change/distribute as you like.
Version 4.1

released August 16, 2019
- when computing sunrise, sunset and daylength data the current day is determined by using local time instead of UTC.
- adds "daysum", "monthsum" and "yearsum" as selectors for template variables in export definitions. This allows for example to sum up daily rain in an export file that has rows in an hourly resolution.
released August 15, 2019
- changes automated payment method from "PayPal" to "MyCommerce". This gives you more flexibility on payment options. When transaction is done, you get a license key to be manually entered on "License" tab and saved. Having done that, Meteobridge needs to be restarted to come up licensed. Update licenses to purchase additional 2 years of SW updates are handled the same way.

- adds rain bucket resolution option to Davis Weather Link Live station.
- changes wind direction reported to network "windy.com" to 2 minutes average instead of current direction.
released May 5, 2019
- adds experimental support for Davis Weather Link Live device. This is still very experimental, intended to find bugs with the help of Meteobridge users. No way ready for production. We still need a leaf/soil station connected to a WLL to read out and understand the data format for that particular sensor type.
Version 3.9
released May 5, 2019
- version 3.9 finalized.
released April 28, 2019
- adds support for new weather station gateway GW1000 from Fine Offset. GW1000 collects data from up to 8 WH31 sensors (temp/hygro with display), 16 WH51 sensors (soil temp and moisture with sensor cable and display), a WS68 sensor unit delivering outdoor temp/hum, wind and uv/solar data, a Wh40 rain counter, and finally a WH41 air quality meter. The GW1000 gateway connects via WiFi to your LAN and provides data to the Meteobridge, when Meteobridge is told the IP of the GW1000. Apart from the standard set the GW1000 supports soil sensors and an air quality sensor. Implementation has been tested with quite a few sensors in the meanwhile. Please report bugs in the corresponding thread in the forum.
released April 22, 2019
- Meteobridge PRO: fixes a bug that prevented some Meteobridge PRO to install latest scripts and support files.
released April 20, 2019
- fixes the pressure bug when sending data to windy.
- Meteobridge NANO: adds TX power boost mode for the new batch of NANOs (left picture, with a red strap instead of a black strap). This option makes use of the better RF power emission of the new batch of VoCore2 modules. Please be aware that this mode draws so much power that the console needs support by additional batteries or (better) a more juicy power supply (minimum 500 mA). The standard 300 mA power supply of the Davis console cannot feed this mode, voltage will plump on WiFi operation and make the NANO reboot. Please use this mode only, when you experience WiFi reach problems. If your WiFi operation is fine, don't mess with this mode. Black strap NANOs don't have this option.
released April 18, 2019
- adds weather network windy.com. It needs an API key that users can generate once they have registered an account.
released April 15, 2019
- more changes on OpenWeatherMap support. Meteobridge does now check for a station already being registered at the provided API key. If not, Meteobridge will register a station. If there is already a station registered the first one from the list (in case there are multiple stations registered) will be used by Meteobridge for uploading. This is still experimental, but please give it a try. Deleting the stations Meteobridge might have registered before is a good step to start with. OpenWeatherMap API documentation explains how to delete stations via HTTP requests. I am still disappointed that OpenWeatherMap does not provide features to setup/maintain/delete stations within their web interface, which is clearly the right way to go.
released April 14, 2019
- fixes a repetitive registration of station at openweathermap. Station registration is now only done one time.
released April 13, 2019
- Meteobridge NANO SD: fixes missing ".wswin.exp" file that is needed for continous WSWIN data exports.

- adds support for agriculture weather network Caburé in Argentina.
- adds periodical triggers for "every two days" and "weekly".
- fixes template variable "mbsystem-station" to report name of selected station type.
- NANO SD: fixes newly introduced bug which inhibits backup script execution.
- switches support for OpenWeatherMap to their new API 3.0. This was necessary because upload using legacy API is no longer available for new users. Using API 3.0 needs you to enter the APP ID you are granted by OpenWeatherNet when setting up your account. When you enter APP ID and station name and press "save" a station ID will be automatically assigned at OpenWeatherMap. Support for this rather complicated and complicated to use weather network is still experimental.
released March 17, 2019
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: fixes a bug that can make Meteobridge reboot when doing a database backup.
- adds experimental support for Davis LOOP2 packet evaluation when Meteobridge is in "slave" mode. In "slave" mode a PC connects to the Meteobridge on port 22222 and takes over control by directly accessing the Davis console and taking over control.
- adds Davis forecast texts in Spanish. Corresponding template variable is "texteshtml".
released March 13, 2019
- improves handling of semaphores in "template.cgi" script which can be used for polling weather data from the Meteobridge as HTTP replies. This should solve situations where the script did no longer report data when being interrupted once.
released March 11, 2019
- fixes a bug that limits AWEKAS uploads not to be less often than every 5 minutes when using fastlink option.
released March 2, 2019
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: allows to feed alien data (as "data21num") into Meteobridge by providing an executeable shell script as /root/datafeed that returns "data21 xxx", where xxx is an integer number which will be divided by 100 when used by Meteobridge. Example: File "/root/datafeed" is defined as follows and presents value "100.00" on the live data display for sensor "data21num":
#!/bin/sh # echo "data21 10000" exit 0
released February 5, 2019
- fixes data logger stalls when using Meteoplug graphing server uploads.

released January 26, 2019
- fixes bugs on date/time format, solar radiation and UV index when uploading to meteoclimatic network
- fixes bad data issue when reading Vantage RF data directly and temperature is below zero Fahrenheit. Only some Davis temp sensors have been affected.
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds support for chart languages Dutch and French.
released January 17, 2019
- fixes a bug for outdoor temp sensors for some Davis Vantage2 units when using Meteobridge PRO or Meteostick for data reception.
released January 13, 2019
- adds support for weather network meteoclimatic. Data is uploaded to the Meteobridge server and meteoclimatic data collector needs to be told the URL where to pick the data from. URL is individual and provided as "Data Link" on Meteobridge "Weather Network" tab. Green marks just indicate that the Meteobridge server did store the data, it does not show if meteoclimatic has grabbed data from there. This loose coupling is one of the disadvantages of the "drop and forget" data upload schema, you don't get feedback if data has finally reached its destination.
released January 6, 2019
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds export template "wswin-monthly" to generate monthly data exports for WSWIN (just on hourly level).
released January 5, 2019
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds a weather network entry "WSWIN Data Feed" that allows to build "import.csv" files in network folder "export". WSWIN can be pointed to this file to read data ongoing in per minute resolution from the Meteobridge. Interval to build this file can be between every 5 minutes up to every hour. Please keep in mind that doing short intervals will add to the wear of your USB or SD-card storage in the Meteobridge.
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds option "pragma exportfile=xyz" to be used within export templates. Using this option will store export data with filename "xyz" in export folder instead using template name and selected time frame and resolution as file name.
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds option "pragma append=y" to be used in order to add more line to an already existing file without repeating the header lines. Using this option is helpful to incrementally add data to an export file.
- adds soil temperature and soil moisture values of a Davis Vantage to be reported to ambientweather network.
released January 2, 2019
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds option "pragma crlf=y" to be used within export templates. Using this option will result into an export file with Windows style terminated lines (CR+LF) instead of just LF.

- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds data import function on "Hirstory tab. In a first step import of Meteohub raw data files and Meteoplug monthly export files are supported. Files can be zipped (".zip") or gnuzipped (".gz") or plain text. Files need to be copied into "import" folder on PC network share provided by Meteobridge. There is an option to skip malformed records or to halt import. Meteohub and Meteoplug provide up to 4 million raw data records per months, so this can take half an hour (NANO SD) or an hour (PRO) to import. While import is running, new logged data is queued and stored into database when import is done. Feeding of weather networks is halted during the import.
released December 20, 2018
- adds support for ELV RS350 room climate logger, which provides 5 indoor sensors only (neither wind, pressure nor rain data).

released December 3, 2018
- Meteobridge PRO and NANO: changes code to potentially improve WLAN long-term stability.
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: when calling a chart, URL parameter "sensormap" allows to use alternative sensors instead of the ones programmed in the chart definition. Assume a chart shows data for "thb0" and "th0" then adding "&sensormap=th1,thb9" to the chart URL will make the chart to show data for "th1" instead of "th0" and data for "thb9" instead of "thb0". This is an easy work-around to avoid definition of duplicated charts for various sensors of the same kind.
- Meteobridge NANO: changes reboot handling slightly.

released November 21, 2018
- Meteobridge NANO SD: We did a port of Brian's famous HomeWeatherStation template to run on the NANO SD. To have this activated it just needs you to select "Local Dashboard" on "Weather Network" tab and then to give it an upload interval. In order to have current conditions and forecast information on the dashboard, you need to signup to DarkSky an CheckWX services, both free of charge for private use. The HomeWeatherStation dashboard receives historical data from the NANO SD database and makes use of the Meteobridge charting engine powered by the amcharts JavaScript package. Dashboard can be used locally in your LAN but also from the Internet by a remote link. To access the dashboard no credentials of the Meteobridge admin web interface are needed. Dashboard also adapts to mobile devices. This is the first time we offer a powerful dashboard, locally hosted on a Meteobridge without any need for setting up a web server. We hope you enjoy this feature and I have to say a big thanks to Brian, who was so generous to allow me to bundle his template with the Meteobridge software in order to make it most easy for you to use. In case of technical interest you can download my adaption of HomeWeatherStation template from here. Let us realize for a moment that all this is provided by a stamp-sized module in the back of a Davis console! Future is now ;-)
released November 17, 2018

- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: makes non iterating part of an export template (the lines that start with "$") subject to general template variable replacements. This allows to add summary information about a month to an export that in principle just iterates all the days of the month. This is a new fundamental features to generate summary reports.
- Meteobridge PRO & NANO SD: adds NOAA like monthly reports a templates for data export. Both styles, ISO and IMP are available ("NOAA-monthly-iso" and "NOAA-monthly-imp"). Template section of the wiki has also been updated accordingly.
released February 28, 2018
- adds weather network "Meteoagro NET"
released February 24, 2018
- adds full support for WeatherFlow AIR and SKY stations. Although these stations are part of your LAN/WLAN Meteobridge does not need to know their IP. This is a cool feature made possible by the station that sends data out as UDP broadcasts. Backside of this very convenient technique is, that the data cannot be routed and by that Meteobridge cannot connect to a WeatherFlow station outside the local LAN/WLAN.
- adds a feature to address the sensors marked on "Live Data" tab as primary in template definitions. Please read details here...
Since version 3.6 Meteobridge also supports selection of a sensor which has been defined on "Live Data" tab as primary. When no primary selection has been made all the "0" sensors (like "th0temp", "wind0wind", etc) are primary by default. But when you select "th3temp" as primary sensor and by that its data is reported as your stations outdoor temperature to all the weather networks, then you can now also select the primary sensor in your template definitions by selecting it as the "*" sensor. For example: "th*temp" selects the sensors defined as the primary outdoor temp sensor. When you use "[th*temp-act:--]" you get the current temperature of your primary outdoor temp sensor. This will be a synonym to "[th0temp-act:--] as long as you have not selected another sensor as primary outdoor temp sensor. But when you have selected "th3temp" to be the primary outdoor temp sensor, then "th*temp" will reference to "th3temp" instead of "th0temp". Please be aware that Meteobridge versions before version 3.6 will fail to evaluate "*" sensors. Therefore, it is recommended to provide both notations in a template and to make use of the conditional evaluation as explained in a later chapter. Here is an example that takes "th0temp" as default outdoor sensor on older Meteobridge versions and newer "th*temp" notation on current ones: #if{*[mbsystem-swversion:1.0]>=3.6*}#then#outdoor temp: [th*temp-act:--]°C#else#outdoor temp: [th0temp-act:--]°C#fi#

released January 28, 2018
- Support for version 3 hardware of the TL-MR3020 from TP-Link has been added. This support does come with two caveats:
- As we are lacking reliable working Open Source WiFi drivers for this new device, Meteobridge can currently offer LAN operation only. It remains unclear if/when this limit can be lifted.
- The stock firmware only accepts updates of TP-Link signed updates. By that the Meteobridge firmware cannot be flashed to the device by the web interface. To work around this you have to setup of a TFTP server on your PC that provides the Meteobridge firmware for flashing. Flashing itself is easy, but it needs you to setup the TFTP server first.
- You find a description how to flash the MR3020v3 in the "Preparing Hardware" section and can have a look at the hardware details of this new platform in "hardware" section. First tests indicate that this version 3 of the MR3020 does no longer need a USB hub to connect to the weather stations, which is nice. As Meteobridge support for MR3020v3 is brand new, there will for sure still be some bugs. We are happy when you report those in the forum, so that we can get rid of them fast. As with all new ports, please be a bit patient if it takes a few days until an issue is solved.
released January 27, 2018
- some minor bug fixes on the new Meteobridge release for TL-WR902AC platform.
- fixes a bug with the firmware download links on "Preparing Hardware" page.
- adds Turkish language option and improves Dutch language support.
released January 24, 2018
- New hardware TL-WR902AC from TP-Link has been added to the list of supported devices. "Hardware" section and "Preparing Hardware" section are updated and explain how to flash these devices. The WR902 offers twice the RAM and Flash-ROM compared to MR3020, which makes developing SW for it a bit more relaxed. Feature-wise Meteobridge on this device is identical to all the other non-pro Meteobridge platforms. While WR902AC is able to operate on the 5 GHz band Meteobridge is currently only operating in the standard 2.4 GHz Band. This shouldn't be an issue as there are rarely any 5 GHz only WLANs and 2.4 GHz has anyway better RF reach and we don't really need top speed for Meteobridge operation. If the WR902AC also needs a USB hub to connect to USB 1.x weather stations is not known yet. It also has an Atheros chip, but it is another model and may be the drivers for this model do it right now... we 'll see. The port to WR902AC made switching from openwrt to lede on OS level necessary, so we had to setup a complete new compile chain. Therefore, the port might still have some bugs. If you discover some bugs, please report and please be a bit patient if fixing takes a few days. Currently the WR902AC is sold as hardware revision 1.x. You can see from the TP-Link pages that they are preparing to release a version 3 model, which seems to use different hardware. So take your chance to get a version 1 WR902AC which are widely available on world-wide level right now.

- reduces pointless writing of same sensor values into internal storage every few seconds for WMR-300 weather station. Now data in Meteobridge is only updated when sensor data has changed or 50 seconds have passed. By that storage consumption is reduced without compromising on tracking fast sensor data changes.
- adds support for Oregon Scientific low budget weather station WMR-89. Support is still experimental, but we have been asked many times to support this station, which we now do :-)
released January 8, 2018
- fixes some bugs in the WMR-300 low level driver, which made reporting of sensors unstable in certain situations.
released January 3, 2018

- Meteobridge PRO: Does show size and free space of backup media when initiating a backup. Messages section on "System" tab will provide this information.
released January 2, 2018
- adds "MMM" template variable to report month as English three letter abbreviation ("Jan", "Feb", etc).
- adds multiplier to template variable converter. For example: Converter "F10" reports temperature in degrees Fahrenheit multiplied by 10. That way template variables can report current outdoor temp in 1/10 of degrees Fahrenheit ("th0temp-act=F10") or daily rain fall in 1/100 inch ("rain0total-sumday=in100").
- These features allow to generate CWOP/wxnow.txt (http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Wxnow.txt) data strings as follows:
Feb 01 2009 12:34 272/010g006t069r010p030P020h61b10150
Corresponding template definition looks like this:
[MMM] [DD] [YYYY] [hh]:[mm]\n [wind0dir-act.000:...]/[wind0avgwind-act=mph.000:...]g[wind0wind-max10=mph.000:...] t[th0temp-act=F.000:...]r[rain0total-sum1h=in100.000:...]p[rain0total-sum24h=in100.000:...] P[rain0total-sumday=in100.000:...]h#if#{*[th0hum-act.0:0]==100*}#then#00#else#[th0hum-act.00:..]#fi# b[thb0seapress-act=hpa10.00000:.....]
We got notice that TP-Link rolled out a new hardware version of the TL-MR3020. The new units cannot be flashed with Meteobridge firmware. You can identify these version 3 devices by the sticker on the packaging telling you that it is a version 3 model and by the new TP-Link logo and the "300Mbps" text on the front of the device. There is a posting in the forum that gives you even more details why these units cannot be used with Meteobridge right now.
released December 27, 2017
- fixes a bug sometimes impacting restore of settings on "System" tab.

released December 13, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: Allows a clean and save shut down by pressing the reset button (behind the pinhole) until vertical status bar has scrolled down completely and "Shut Down" appears on the display. Now button can be released. When red LED is turned off, system is powered down and can be unplugged from power without risk of data being damaged on the USB storage. It will need a power cycle to start again.
- Meteobridge PRO: A "Shut Down" button has been placed next to the "Reboot" button on "System" tab. Pressing it gives you a warning that it will need physical access to the device to get it started again. Confirming that, the shutdown will happen.
released December 11, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: fixes erroneous "license update period expiration" messages on "System tab".
released December 9, 2017

Version 3.4
released December 4, 2017
- fixes a bug that prevents from uploading data to weather network idokep.
- allows to read data from webcams in PNG and JPG format (previously only JPG was allowed)
released December 3, 2017
- adds internal temp and humidity readings to idokep weather network
- reduces maximum RF sensitivity for Meteostick readings to -95db. More sensitive settings have turned out to be useless as they pickup too much RF noise to give a reliable reading of data.
released November 27, 2017
- improves error reporting on failed HTTP requests
released November 26, 2017
- fixes a bug that stalls the data logger when some weather network details left empty (like WU ID).
released November 19, 2017
- fixes a red mark error on "weather network" tab when using Home Weather Station. Previous fix has not been effective in all situations.
- renames Meteostick RF bandwidth options from "narrow / normal / wide" to "direct / via console". "direct" (which corresponds to formerly "narrow") has to be used when receiving data directly from the Davis sensors or from an external Davis repeater. When packets retransmitted from the Davis console should be read, option "via console" has to be used. This is identical to formerly used option "normal". Option "wide" has been dropped, as it has shown not to be useful in Davis RF context.
- adds support for "webcam.io" service, which users might use as replacement for to be terminated "Weather Underground Camera" service. Just setup a FTP cam upload service within Meteobridge and give this as path:
ftp://user:password@ftp.webcam.io:21/mycam-[YYYY][MM][DD]-[hh][mm].jpg
Prerequisite is that you have setup a free test account at webcam.io as explained here: www.webcam.io
released November 16, 2017
- fixes a sensor mapping error for th70 when using Davis sensors in combination with Meteobridge PRO or Meteostick.
- fixes a red mark error on "weather network" tab when using Home Weather Station setup with "mb.php" script located in subfolder "mbridge".

released November 4, 2018
- fixes email send functions so that quote characters (") can be sent.
- provides new HTML option to send HTML formatted emails. Below you see a definition of a HTML email in the Meteobridge "Subject # Body" notation and on the right you see how the resulting HTML email looks like. Images can also be included by HTML <img> references. Direct inclusion of images into the email is not supported.
todays temp at [hh]:[mm]#<body><table border="1"> <tr><td>current temp</td><td>[th0temp-act:--]°C</td></tr> <tr><td>min temp</td><td>[th0temp-dmin:--]°C</td></tr> <tr><td>max temp</td><td>[th0temp-dmax:--]°C</td></tr> </table></body>
released October 26, 2017
- fixes a bug on handling single quotes in camera overlay strings
relased October 24, 2017
- fixes a bug regarding ok/error mark for alarm events on "Live Data" tab.
- better handles slow down issue of some observerip models and avoids wrong selection of measurement units.
released October 14, 2017
- limits event history to 30 lines, but allows to show full history (up to 4000 bytes in total) when clicking onto upload status indicator. Event history will show-up in a new window.
released October 12, 2017
- adds event history to each of the upload services listed in upper section of "Live Data" tab. When mouse is moved over the upload status indicator a list of last upload events is shown.
released October 11, 2017
- does up to 3 retries on sending SMS. This handles spare situations where contact to SMS service does fail on first attempt caused by routing or Internet time out problems.
- Meteobridge PRO: enhances "@YYYY" addressing schema to be used with template variables. When "YYYY" is not defining a valid year but is in the range of "0000" to "0010" then "0000" is interpreted as the current year, "0001" as the previous year and so on. In that situation the 4 digit number expresses how many years to skip into the past. These skips need to be in 4-digit style, leading zeros are not allowed to be omitted.
- Meteobridge PRO: more robust execution of database repair tasks.
- fixes bug in testing HTTPS connections on "Weather Networks" tab for services "Meteotemplate" and "Home Weather Station".
- fixes a bug with Oregon WMR-300 station in regard how to handle wind chill computation when primary outdoor temp/hum sensor does not deliver data.
released September 30, 2017
- fixes a bug that stalls SFTP uploads on DIR-505 platform
released September 29, 2017
- adds SFTP upload option. This supports password protected SFTP upload only (no key based upload). SFTP upload services can be selected like FTP upload, parameters are the same. Implementation is still regarded beta. FTPS (aka FTP via TLS) is not supported. An option to test a SFTP connections is added at the bottom of the "services" tab.
- more nicely adapts HTTP timeout settings to given send intervals. This means tighter timeouts are applied for rapid sending and more relaxed timeout apply when data is sent just every 30 seconds or even less often. Maximum timeout is 13 seconds. A URL not answering in that interval can be regarded broken (even on slow cellular networks).
released September 22, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: allows to upload files via admin web interface to SMB folders "charts, "templates", "scripts" and "export". Simply browse to "http://ip-of-your-meteobridge/upload.html" and select folder and file to upload.
released September 21, 2017
- adds weather network "Wetterring". All you need is an ID key from Wetterring and you can easily upload data in user-defined intervals to the "Wetterring" network "http://www.wetterring.com". Main focus of Wetterring is Austria and Switzerland.
released September 10, 2017
- does no longer report temperature as dew point when humidity is at 0%. Behavior is altered, so that no dew point value is reported, when humidity is at 0%. This is because there is no dew point without humidity. When you urgently need some kind of dew point even when your humidity sensor reports zero, you can adapt humidity stretch as follows. A value of "0" will then be mapped to "1".
We got notice that TP-Link changed the NOR flash storage in some of the newer hardware batches named Rev 1.9 (see picture on the right) of the MR3020. Unfortunately, this chip is not supported by the Linux kernel we use in our current Meteobridge firmware and the unit will not boot. But we were lucky enough to patch the kernel this evening, so that the new chip is now recognized and Meteobridge firmware in new version 1.5 is now doing well again. For those who flashed one of the impacted MR3020 with Meteobridge firmware 1.4 the sad message is, that the unit is bricked. I just posted an instruction in the forum how to resurrect the device without opening it, but it is more for the hardcore techie: http://forum.meteohub.de/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=12318&p=23502#p23502
released August 17, 2017
- adds template variables "daylengthmin", "civillengthmin", "nauticallengthmin" which report length of shortest day (December 21) of the current year at the given longitude/latitude.
- adds template variables "daylengthmax", "civillengthmax", "nauticallengthmax" which report length of longest day (June 21) of the current year at the given longitude/latitude.
- adds converters "secs", "mins", "hours" to be applied to daylength results. Converter returns a floting point number that defines the time period in seconds, munites or hours instead of the standard "HH:MM" format. This makes it more easy to to math between time durations. Example: Template string "{* [mbsystem-daylengthmax=mins.0] - [mbsystem-daylength=mins.0] *0}" returns number of minutes the current day is shorter than longest day of the year.
- adds an option to specify number of leading zeros when using decimals specifier. "{*([mbsystem-daylengthmax=mins.0]-[mbsystem-daylength=mins.0])/60*00t}:{*([mbsystem-daylengthmax=mins.0]-[mbsystem-daylength=mins.0])%60*00t}" returns lost daytime compared to longest day of the year in "HH:MM" notation. "*00t}" sets output to 2 digits filled up with leading zeros ("00") if necessary and does not do rounding but cuts of decimals ("t").
Version 3.3
released August 13, 2017

released Juli 3, 2017
- adds support for Fine Offset 2310 / 4000 weather stations, which are also rebranded as "Tycon TP2700".
released Juli 2, 2017
- applies non-standard primary sensor settings to HomeWeatherStation uploads. Changing primary sensors on live data tab did not had an effect on which sensors were used for feeding HomeWeatherStation uploads. With the new release, this is taken into account as with the other weather networks.
released July 1, 2017
- adds an option to send true rain rate data to WU instead of cumulated rain of last 60 minutes. Default Meteobridge upload of cumulated rain is in line with WU specification but some users requested to see rain data on WU as on their console. This can now be realized by setting the switch to "alternative rain rate".
released June 19, 2017
- removes user-defined retries for weather network ambientweather.net to spare server bandwidth.
released June 18, 2017
- improves algorithm to compute station pressure from SLP as reported by Vantage. Normally, Meteobridge directly requests station pressure from Vantage by means of LOOP2 protocol. But there might be situations where Vantage console is on old firmware level (below 1.9) not supporting LOOP2 or when Meteobridge acts as a slave to a PC weather program emulating a WLIP device and by that might not get LOOP2 packets. Please understand that back computation of station pressure from SLP is not perfect as average humidity and temperature of last 12h hours is not avail to Meteobridge. When you are operating in higher altitudes be prepared that some variation will occur. You can compensate by pressure adjustments on "station" tab.
released June 14, 2017
- fixes time triggers "before each new year", "before each new month" and non-PRO Meteobridges (PROs did not had the reported problem).
- Meteobridge PRO: fixes a bug uploading export data via FTP. Latest export file is now available as "export:lastexport.txt" or "export:lastexport.exp" and a bug when using full qualified inline FTP credentials has been fixed.

- adds template variable "epoch" which returns current date/time as unsigned integer in Unix style (seconds since January 1, 1970).
- Meteobridge PRO: changes OLED screen saver to show two moving vertical lines when active. Screen saver pauses a few seconds and shows original content when lines do meet in the middle of the screen. Moving lines avoid having the false impression that display is completely off.
released May 19, 2017
- fixes a bug that falsely reports that Meteotemplate URL is malformed.
released May 14, 2017
- adapts error handling to changes in return messages of weather network previmeteo.

final 3.2 version released May 6, 2017
- introduces limited time frame for update support. Free updates are available for first 2 years after license purchase. Having passed that period an update license that covers another two years of free update service can be purchased for 19 Euros. Purchase can be made within the Meteobridge application via a PayPal button. Being out of update services users will stick to their current version, which will stay operational. Bug fixing and trouble shooting will focus on new versions, there are no plans on back-porting bug fixes or deploying new features to older versions. Meteobridge PROs are not subject of these changes, they still get all updates for free.
released April 30, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: fixes start/stop issue of OLED driver and improves CPU efficiency of OLED driver code.
- Meteobridge PRO: improves "once" display scripts to erase static screen content (like smartbedded intro logo) when triggered. This helps to render screen black after each round of displaying weather data.
released April 28, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: improves display operation. While default display scripts show weather data on the display in a loop for a period of 5 minutes, there are now script variants available that run throw the loop only one time and switch off display after that. These variants end with "once" in the drop-down list, where you select the display scripts. When you trigger these scripts every 2 minutes, you get about 40 seconds of data being displayed, then display goes off and starts again displaying data when 2 minutes are passed. This helps reducing screen wear-out while still providing you with data on the display.
released April 26, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: fixes a bug related to display operations.
released April 22, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: switches OLED into sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity. After that content is displayed for 3 secs every minute. When new data is sent to the display, it wakes up immediately and 5 minute countdown to sleep starts again. This measure protects display from early wear out. Timeout to sleep is hard coded and cannot be changed by the user right now.

released February 4, 2017
- Meteobridge PRO: adds a function on "History" tab that starts a complete reconstruction of the database from the recorded hourly values. This helps in situations, when time zone has changed and as a result higher level aggregated data for days, months, etc will not have the correct time stamps anymore. The reconstruction will take some time and during that period storing new data will delayed until reconstruction has finished. Per minute data for the last hours will be lost by performing this operation. Progress of reconstruction will be reflected in messages section of "System" tab.
- Meteobridge PRO: fixes a deficiency, that database process can run into a failure loop, when some database tables are missing (because sensors might have been deleted on "History" tab). When this happens now, one error message will be reported and database table will be setup again to allow next operation on that sensor to be successful.
- Meteobridge PRO: adds an adjustable boot delay. This allows the Meteobridge PRO to wait 1 to 5 minutes after a restart before reaching out to the Internet. Optional boot delay can be adjusted on "System" tab.
- summarizes repeating entries from the logger process in the messages section of "System" tab.
- fixes a bug that did no correctly handle events "before" and "after" day break. Time stamps used for collecting associated data were not correctly used.

- Meteobridge PRO: adds a new tempminmax chart template to display min/max temperature values
- Meteobridge PRO: adds a new allinoneminmax chart template that works like "allinone" but display min/max data which is suitable when looking for summary data on daily and monthly level. This charts show min, average and max values in the legend and also presents balloon data including date/time of min max data when moving the mouse to one of the data sets. As with all Meteobridge PRO charts, they are based on Javascript, which is embedded into a regular HTML file that can be uploaded to your server and can be presented there by iframing.
- Meteobridge PRO: reflects selection of sensors to be used as primary sensors from "Live Data" tab when plotting charts.
- Meteobridge PRO: changes execution of export data generation which should now handle parallel triggering events with successive FTP uploads of lastexport files fine.
released October 20, 2016
- Meteobridge PRO: Redesign of lastchart handling to make sure chart generations executed at the same time and which triggered FTP upload events are handled the right way to avoid mixing up the order of execution. When changes have proven being bug free, same will be applied for handling data export events which currently can't be executed at the same time in parallel.
released October 19, 2016
- Meteobridge PRO: Making use of automated chart generation and upload should now be fully supported. As there occured a few questions how to use it, I give an example on the right. As you can see, event #6 generates every full hour a chart of todays data just before the new hour shows up. This triggers event #7 which uploads the generated html chart to a web server and gives it the name "daychart-(year)-(month)-(day).html". Current data for year, month, day is inserted by means of "gnu c strftime" function, which defines "%Y" as year, "%m" as month, and "%d" as day. After successful upload, the local file on the Meteobridge PRO is deleted, as indicated by the "Delete file" mark.
released October 17, 2016
- Meteobridge PRO: minor bug fixes related to the introduced chart feature.
released October 16, 2016
- Meteobridge PRO: initial support for generating charts. Feature is still beta, feedback from users is highly welcome. Charts can be defined on "Graphs" tab, where time period, resolution, language and chart type can be selected. Meteobridge shows chart inline and provides two URLs, where the chart can be accessed. "local URL" works in your LAN, while "remote URL" allows you to access it from the Internet, when you have remote access enabled. Charts can also be generated on "Services" tab in a periodical manner. Charts are stored as html pages in "charts" folder, which can be accessed as Meteobridge PC network folder. FTP Upload of charts is also supported, by which you can make these accessible on your web server. "chart:lastchart" mechanics can be used for an FTP upload triggered by making the chart (this works analogous to the "lastexport" item when uploading export files). There is only one chart defined right now (allinone) in iso and imperial flavor, but more to come. Chart definitions are located in "templates" folder and have extension ".chart". Meteobridge charts are based on the "amcharts.com" package which smartbedded has licensed in a redistributable way. Nevertheless, please be aware that you are not allowed to used the included chart libs for purposes outside Meteobridge. Meteobridge charts are interactive, you can select and deselect data, you can modify the time line, and much more. You find a chart generated by my Meteobridge PRO here. Feel free to inspect it.

It adds a new station type item "Sunshine Station" to select and provides a new sensor variable "sun0total" which sums up hours of sunshine on daily, monthly, yearly level.
- adds support for Ambient Weather Observer IP WS-900 weather station
released September 12, 2016
- maps soil temperature sensor of Acurite Aculink bridge to sensor IDs "t?temp" where "?" is a number starting at 10.
- pushes date of pure temp sensors with IDs "t10temp" until "t13temp" as soil temperature to weatherunderground. This allows non Davis stations to also report soil temperatures as Acurite Aculink bridge, for example.
- better support of Davis leaf stations with Meteostick.
released August 24, 2016
- fixes a bug that an event which is triggered by another event might be started in reverse order.
- fixes handling of return messages from WOW weather network.
- fixes a bug that does not correctly start/stop logging process after making changes on "station" tab. This could have produced database locks on Meteobridge PRO systems.
- adds time control for periodic data exports to be triggered before or after a full hour, day, month, year has been started. Example: This allows to export all data of the current day just before day has passed (option: "before day break"). To be precise, this service is triggered when the day has just passed but data taken into account is limited to the day that has just passed. This makes definition of services that intend to export data of completed days/months/years more easy and straight forward.
- adds option to FTP upload service, that allows to automatically delete the file from export folder when file has been uploaded successfully.
released August 17, 2016
- adds optional retries for HTTP push services. Number of retries depend on send intervals.

released July 12, 2016
- Meteobridge PRO: massive rework of how data is stored. In essence there now is a pseudo persistent database keeping data in per minute resolution for the last 36 hours and a database in internal USB store that holds data on per hour/day/month/year level forever. Flash wear is reduced by about factor 60 and capacity of 8GB also looks to be overstated as USB database will grow very slowly. As so many code fractions needed to be adapted, there might still be some bugs here and there. Please report bugs to "info(at)meteobridge.com". We expect things going smooth after s short time.
released July 6, 2016
- adds code to terminate stalled logger processes that might keep tcp ports busy.
released July 5, 2016
- fixes SMS sending bug introduced with June 28 release
released July 3, 2016
- makes use of a vector adding method to compute average wind direction. Result is no longer restricted to a fixed number of direction buckets (have been 16 in the past)
- Meteobridge PRO: in order to eliminate the USB flash defects which are likely to occur after a certain time of use, we decided to dramatically reduce update interval of the internal database. Now data is only written every 15 minutes to the internal database. When this works flawless, update interval is planned to be further extended to every hour. As a result database will no longer provide per minute data. Nevertheless, the current 24h data will be available in RAM, so min/max/avg data of last minutes hours can still be computed correctly. RAM data also survives controlled reboots. Impact of stripping away the per minute database representation in regard to template variables is described in the Template section of the wiki.
